I haven’t posted here in a long time, but this work is worth sharing.
COHEAO has released Mapping the Gap, a new report on how federal graduate and professional loan caps may create uneven financing pressure across higher education.

@therealdcunna From my days as a community college kid working night audit (gulp) 25+ years ago, I can tell you nearly all places (hotels, motels, etc) along 81 treat May as a big month. In Staunton, May and Oct (foliage) were the two months of near rack rates. Guessing it still holds
@jmart@dariusrucker I could not think of a better song to accompany the video of the King of England shaking hands with Strasburg High baseball team. It just fits. Not to mention the dudes that finished the song grew up a little over an hour away.
@G_Wimb It’s like when the assistant coach in Necessary Roughness tried to wear a suit when he filled in his head coach and it didn’t work. Now, if we could just get Kathy Ireland as a kicker….
@ProV1Smile@asymmetricinfo Excluding drinkers with a problem, the “well, shit” beer for life’s truly difficult moments of adulting deserves recognition. Just had one while composing a eulogy a week ago.
@mattyglesias He put in the awful bike lanes.
Also, once saw the dude straight up skip out on giving a eulogy. By happenstance, I also knew one of his early mentors. Funeral was going long, but he left early and didn’t deliver his remarks. Always said I’d never forger it.
@wmataGM Alright, it is time to start sending your deputies to other troubled agencies in the area (I.e. DC Water). I’ve been skeptical, even annoyed by some of your online fans, but now convinced we need a “Clarke Tree” for DMV agencies like the “Saban Tree” for football coaches.
@CMBrookePinto Everything in the District involves leadership “working with” or “remaining committed to” fixing problems, but never, you know, actually fixing anything.
@asymmetricinfo This story is so odd because no one could imagine a less suitable establishment for this kind of treatment. Lived in nearby in LeDroit Park for years. Place wasn’t my cup of tea, but clearly added value/community pillar. And they close early!
@swlittauer@mattyglesias I once had to genuinely inquire with the District if I needed to replace my door to match the “historic character” of my neighborhood before or after it burned in the riots.
@AlexKomaDC I understand big storm, shit happens, our government is inept at basic services and I chose to live here, etc etc, but them pretending all is well is infuriating. Our alley was cleared early, but still no trash pickup for more than 3 weeks.
@Super70sSports My daughter’s 3rd grade basketball team lost yesterday 32-6. On the outside, “good job, honey! You guys still played hard. Just wasn’t your day. It happens.”
On the inside, this!
@conor64 Along the same lines, “Let’s order 2-3 large $7.99 Dominos pizzas and see how many meals we get out of it.” Solid pizza for you for a dinner and lunch leftovers and potential for many kids meals.
Crazy outliers who lack common sense aren’t a trend
@mattyglesias Your kids go to the school without heat and burst pipes? I’m all for opening as many schools as soon as possible, but I hope those were closed.
@NOTUSreports That’s funny. Every time I happen to be on 50 and drive past that Outback, I think to myself, “I should go to that Outback, I wish we had one in the District,” but I never go.
