(to be clear: this will be happening on the internet, not in person, what are you a murderer)

[Ghost City Press @GhostCityPress]

We’re disappointed about #AWP2020 and especially the cancellation of @WhaleProm, but most of the books on our site are on sale rn! Lots of chaps and some paperbacks are only $5.00! https://t.co/a1jSasTfzP

[Whale Prom @WhaleProm]

We're still super bummed about having to cancel Whale Prom

BUT! You can still support the 60+ indie presses that are constantly contributing to our bright & brilliant community!

[𝕴𝖓𝖘𝖎𝖉𝖊 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝕮𝖆𝖘𝖙𝖑𝖊 @incastellated]

We're really bummed that there is no @WhaleProm, but if you thought you might've bought one of our books, they're all still available online.

Our buddies in chicago are holding a pop-up bookfair!

[Long Day Press @longdaypress]

We couldn’t make it to #AWP20, so we’re having a staycation!

SATURDAY, @trucebooks is bringing friends to sell our wares to the wonderful @PilsenCommBooks. Stop by 11am-1pm.

UPDATE: some vendors are out hundreds of dollars. @awpwriter's decision not to cancel #awp2020, which would have made refunds from their hotels & airlines easier.

Please consider helping these folks! #AWPVirtualBookfair2020 #AWPvirtualbookfair

[Whale Prom @WhaleProm]

Thank you for this!

Additionally, if your airline will not reimburse you/wave fees, tryshow them Whale Prom's cancellation statement. Its fucked if they dont honor it.

OUR OFFICIAL STATEMENT

[Whale Prom @WhaleProm]

@ASargusKlein @AScaredWhale Great idea! I'll throw some thought to this tomorrow. But I think I do love it!!

[Whale Prom @WhaleProm]

🚨UPDATE🚨

It's with a heavy heart that I've decided to indefinitely postpone Whale Prom 2020. An official statement will be coming in a few hours.

I cannot guarantee that the statement will not be heavily pointed at how irresponsible it is for AWP to host this event 😘
