In this video he says TS% is a bad metric because if you go from 9/30 FG & 16/16 from FT, the FTs boost your efficiency and don't make shooting nights look bad.

If you shoot those numbers & go 4/10 from 3, your TS% will be 51.3%. That is only better than 7-8% of NBA players this season. There's a big group of people who misjudge/understand the boosts 3s and FTs do to ts%.

One of the main problems with the analytics discourse is that people truly just don't understand them. Take time to understand the numbers and the context around them and it'll make a world of difference
