I DON’T THINK MOST AMERICANS KNOW THIS EXISTS.
The University of North Texas, a taxpayer-funded public university, had a contract with an international recruiting company that paid a commission for every student it successfully enrolled.
$3,000 for an overseas student enrolling full-time.
$1,500 for an international transfer already in the U.S.
The $3,000 was explicitly tied to enrollment: $1,500 after the first semester and another $1,500 after the second.
And this wasn’t necessarily illegal. The federal rules restricting enrollment-based recruiting commissions contain an exception covering certain foreign students abroad who aren’t eligible for federal student aid.
UNT’s contract was written specifically around that category.
By Fall 2024, UNT reported 7,509 international students. 73% were from India.
UNT receives hundreds of millions of dollars in public funding while also paying commissions to recruit international students.
The question now is:
How widespread is commission-based international student recruiting across American universities, and how much money is being paid to these recruiters?

BREAKING: Rochester General Hospital in New York hired 82 resident doctors.
80 are foreign workers on H-1B or J-1 visas.
Only 2 are Americans.
98% of the residency slots went to visa workers- mostly from countries with documented USMLE cheating.
Americans got 2 jobs.
@HollensbeAmanda So thankful and happy for you.
My brain tumor also caused my brain to herniate through the forum magnum and blocked car flow to my spinal cord.
@godogssicem@mattvanswol Tell that to the kid that was trying to hire someone to kill my wife and also threatened to kill the president. Arrested and charged for terroristic threats. Back in school three months later. No one told my wife.
In case you wonder why the Greenland deal is important
◾️Arctic sealanes
◾️Golden Ddome missile defense shield
◾️Critical resources like rare earth minerals
Arctic sealanes
In the map you can see the retreating icecap has opened shippinglanes for periods of the year. Greenland offers a place to monitor and restrict Russian and Chinese naval and submarine movements through the strategic North Atlantic sea corridor (known as the GIUK gap). And it complements Alaska to exert strategic control of the Arctic waters.
Golden Dome
The map also shows why Greenland is crucial for Trumps golden dome project, Us missile shield.
▶️Polar Flight Path: Sits directly under the shortest trajectory incoming missiles would take over the North Pole to hit the U.S.
▶️Safe Interception: Allows intercepting missiles in space so toxic debris falls over Arctic ice instead of American cities.
▶️Satellite Tracking Hub: Offers frequent, direct communication with polar-orbiting satellites tracking incoming threats.
▶️Existing Radar Base: Leverages the Pituffik Space Base to feed early-warning radar data straight into the defense shield.
Resources
Greenland holds some of the world's largest untapped reserves of rare earth minerals, including critical metals like lithium, titanium, cobalt, and nickel. These minerals are vital for advanced electronics, electric vehicle batteries, and defense technology. Acquiring influence over these reserves reduces U.S. reliance on China, which currently dominates the global supply chain.
