So much of my boxing feed is filled with people arguing about who sold more tickets, who brought in more fans, who deserves more credit.

For Katie’s final fight, over 80,000 tickets sold in less than 20 minutes.

Not once did Katie brag about it.

She never made it about herself. Instead, she spent her time thanking the people who supported her and expressing how grateful she was for everyone who came along for the journey.

There’s a lesson there for young fighters.

You don’t need to constantly tell people how important you are. You don’t need to remind everyone what you’ve accomplished or how many tickets you’ve sold.

Work hard. Treat people well. Stay humble. Appreciate those who support you.

Give people a reason to root for you.

Katie did that for her entire career. And 83,000 people showing up to say goodbye speaks for itself.
