Ungating Tips That Actually Work:
Ungating has become the hot topic. You are trying to ungate a few brands. The person reviewing is pushing through 1,000 of these a day. Make it easy for them to approve:
· Brand on the invoice must match AMZ
· Submit the min Qty requested or more
· Highlight Qty, Billing Address, Item names
· Adding ASINs next to items helps
· If no Billing Address, add your CC Statement
· Save as one PDF
When asked for your supplier’s supplier, it is because AMZ doesn’t recognize them for that brand. Send LOA or email the brand: “Hi, I am trying to buy your product from <Supplier> at <address> with website <link>. Are they an approved reseller of <Brand>, specifically <Product Line>?”
Often their response is enough to get approved. Don't give up. Resistance is good, that makes it harder for the rest to compete.
@Joeyrwheeler72 Yeah believe that was a part of their sales pitch if you can call it that, but a small part of me thinks they just were upset no one really used AWD service much and did this 🤣
How to Check & Manage Low Inv Fee
-Go to FBA Inventory
-Look for filter that says Low Inventory Fee
-Filter for Fee Will be Applied
-This will show the items that have historical days under 30 and that hit all the other crazy variables Amazon has decided will make u eligible for low inv fees
-They update this report weekly some point Sunday night / Monday morning
-Any items on this list, if Amazon SHIPS an item FBA that week you will pay the fee. YES, that means items you sold when they were exempt from the fee you will still be responsible to pay the fee. Why? Bc Amazon is nuts!
Ultimately, with new criteria and some level of management on front end u shouldn't have too many skus eligible. We have 7k skus and only have 24 total eligible. However, if i move on average 50 units a week on those skus that is 1,200 units and looking at $600 to $1.2k low inv fee in a given week or $2.5 to $5k in a month on a slower month.
I'd rather keep that money so we will try to minimize the fee with some. I'll add some notes on how that can be done in threads.
@alexbishop86@SaulSellsStuff Yeah this happens in the US as well, unfortunate really but as Saul mentioned, at least it lets other sellers know what NOT to buy lol
@cleartheshelf Great post! I love KPF for A2A, incredibly versatile. I've been goofing around with discontinued or retired products in a similar manner as this as the margins are incredible even if you can't get a ton of stock at each restock every time
I studied the top 5 reseller friendly brands on Amazon.
Some interesting trends popped up that should help you identify products to make more money with.
I'll share X takeaways in this 🧵
@SaulSellsStuff Lol while Amazon has gotten better with scam accounts, still some obvious ones slip through that I feel like basic AI could tell were fake
