Karl: Israel is a Jewish state. That’s in the charter. Do you support that?
Mamdani: I’ve said time and again that I support the state of Israel as a state with equal rights.
Karl: As jewish state?
Mamdani: I believe that any state that privileges one religion over another is one that I can’t tell you I support, whether it be Israel or Saudi Arabia or anywhere else. And a lot of that comes back to a fundamental belief that we should all be considered equal, no matter what our faith is.
The average life expectancy of a new Russian recruit—from arrival at a training ground to death in a combat zone—lies somewhere between 10 days and three weeks. Once sent onto the battlefield, they survive an average of 20 to 35 minutes. @peterfrankopan https://t.co/W3UhBerdH0
Ossoff: "Mike Collins is a bigot and antisemite under federal investigation for the illegal misuse of tax dollars, widely known as a man of poor character who lacks the judgment and integrity to serve in the Senate."
Republicans did this 32 years ago. But it was about a political agenda, not infighting. That’s the difference. This stupidity shows how out of touch Democrats are.
AOC: They come in the right way, they fill out their paperwork, they have gotten a job, they’re participating in our economy, they’re paying taxes, and now we’re going to endanger and possibly put people on a track to deportation who are gainfully participating in their communities and in our economy at a time when, frankly, even just economically and socially, we need these folks now more than ever.

🗓️ June 24, 2014—Luis Suárez infamously bit Italy's Giorgio Chiellini in the closing stages of their group match in Natal.
FIFA handed the Uruguay striker, who had two previous suspensions for biting during his career, a four-month ban from all football-related activity—the longest in World Cup history.
Today, there are no hard feelings.
Chiellini in his 2020 autobiography: 'I admire his mischief. ... He had no need to apologize to me. I too am a son of a b---h on the field and proud of it.'
Lots of Democrats have no idea how to run to someone’s right because they’ve never done it before and think of themselves as progressives, so when faced with an even more left wing opponent, they try to outflank them on identity issues
A big reason why the establishment has been so shockingly clay-footed in these DSA primaries is that a lot of their candidates (Reynoso and Espaillat specifically) used to be the reform candidates back in their day and can’t get over the shock of not being appreciated for that.
The real villain here is Biden. If he had been honest and bowed out of the race in '23, activists in the Democratic base would be less inclined to join in blowing their party up. They have every reason to believe the establishment is there solely to protect itself and its power.
I keep saying it; the “Dem establishment” lost its 2021-2024 credibility not just because of Gaza but because it lost to Trump again. Sanders and Zohran rushed into the gap explaining that they lost bc they abandoned working people.
Far harder to make the “electability” case after you lost the popular vote to a heckin’ Cheeto
