Anyone that says this about the electoral college is simply not educated on how the system works when practiced and protected properly.

It’s fundamentally to prevent the will of the majority from controlling the minority. Of course, not everything voted on is nefarious. It’s simply a protection in place to prevent it from occurring.

It’s the same concept as the second amendment. It’s there as a protection against tyranny, not claiming there is always prominent, current tyranny.
