Today, the UN Security Council condemned in the strongest terms the egregious drone attack on the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant – a flagrant violation of international law that put civilian lives, infrastructure, and the environment at grave risk. The Council has spoken in unity: there must be an immediate and permanent cessation of all attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure in the UAE, including attacks and threats of attack against peaceful nuclear facilities. This goes beyond the UAE. It is a challenge to the principles that safeguard international peace and security. Condemnation alone is not enough. Those responsible for this act of aggression – including those acting through proxy networks – must be held accountable. Press statement ⬇️

ترحب دولة الإمارات باعتماد مجلس الأمن القرار 2720 والذي يطلب من الأمين العام تعيين منسق للإشراف على إيصال المساعدات إلى غزة وإنشاء آلية للمساعدات الإنسانية. يشكل قرار اليوم خطوة بالغة الأهمية، فهو سيتيح إدخال المساعدات التي تشكل شريان الحياة لأهل غزة وإيصالها لمن هم بأشد الحاجة إليها. #الإمارات_في_مجلس_الأمن

The UAE welcomes the adoption of UNSC Resolution 2720, which requests that the SG appoint a Senior Coordinator for aid deliveries in Gaza and establishes a new UN aid mechanism. Today’s resolution is an important step on the long road ahead. It will enable lifesaving humanitarian assistance to get into Gaza, at scale, and reach those in need. #UAExUNSC
