Wheat farmers and researchers were in DC this week, urging Congress and the administration to prioritize wheat research. Research is one of the most powerful tools farmers have to stay competitive, develop better varieties, manage disease, and produce the highest quality wheat.
NAWG is excited to see this legislation move forward. Especially encouraged to see key wins in the Trade & Food Aid titles, including movement of OBBBA funds into MAP and FMD, and the transfer of Food for Peace to USDA.
The Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 is the direct result of listening to farmers, ranchers, and rural Americans. This bill is widely supported by stakeholders who understand the importance of a new farm bill.
