Was a huge wk for biotech with the amazing news of $mrna's positive melanoma phase 3 trial results. The resulting god candle was something to behold. Looking forward to hearing of more progress on this front (personalized cancer vaccines).
$nvda reports earnings this wk wed 8/26, which will help set the tone on the status of the AI trade.
$vix has been relatively low the past 3 wks. Should be ready for a potential spike up, with Iran, high long-term rates, high national debt, etc., there seem to be plenty of possible catalysts.

Some upcoming earnings I'm looking out for this season:
- $lite this wk tue 8/11
- $nvda wed 8/26
- $dell thu 8/27
- $hpe wed 9/2
-$1071 net cash flow last wk.

Had my biggest weekly negative cash flow since November 2024, due to the sharp downturn in $MU into the close on Thu (7/30). I closed my 7/31 740 cash-secured put at a -$2031 loss on Thur, though the stock ended recovering back otm on Fri 7/31. I try my best to avoid losing trades like this, but they are inevitably going to happen. Need to make sure when they do happen that the losses are limited and not devasting.
Despite the wkly loss, I still ended up cash-flow positive for the month of July.
July 2026 overall: $2059
Going into August I am looking forward to seeing who the earnings winners are going to be. So far the winners are $MSFT and $AMZN which both had positive earnings receptions last wk.

Been more cautious in opening new positions the past few weeks with all the choppiness and upcoming earnings. Been focusing more on closing positions and getting dry powder ready.
Earnings are here again, and so far have been negative. $tsla got totally crushed, $nflx had negative reception, and $intc though initially positive in AH, ended up down 8% the following day. $glw reporting this morning and is down -16% pre-mkt.
This week is a big one, with $glw reporting this morning Tue 7/28 before mkt, $msft $meta $hood on Wed 7/29 after mkt, $aapl $amzn Thu 7/30 after mkt. Looking forward to seeing who the winners and losers will be coming out of this earnings season.
So far looking like the winners in tech will be sparse, but they will be true winners, standing out amongst the churn without assist from the overall market euphoria of last earnings season.
$1113 (772+341) net cash flow the past 2 wks. Was traveling and moving so was unable to do my usual wkly cash flow update.

AI trade continues to be manic-depressive with uncertainty on dram shortage timing, splash from kimi, etc.
But we are now in a new earnings season, which should help clarify where things stand, who the current winners and losers are.
$NFLX reported last week Thu, to negative market reception. $GOOG $TSLA report this Wed (7/22), $INTC reports this Thu (7/23).
