@AndrewHolnessJM Why did they sell the cement company in the first place. Very bad idea. They lay off our workers and then import cement from their parent company in order country.
@julietcuthbert Don’t accept people who are not Jamaican Citizens. Take a look at the world and see what is happening. Some are in the country illegally already.
The House of Representatives descended into chaos again on Tuesday after Speaker, Juliet Holness refused to allow Leader of Opposition Business, Phillip Paulwell, to speak during the agenda item ‘Announcements’.

The integrity commission has taken up all the energy. What about a policy on sanitation. You also need a new airport, just in case no one can get to the old airport.
When I think about an anti-corruption body like the IC in its purest form, I imagine an institution that investigates thoroughly and charges only when it is ready to proceed. Its purpose should be to uphold justice while causing the least unnecessary disruption to public life. Not through a drip feed of inconclusive, ambiguous statements that few outside the legal profession can easily interpret, fueling speculation, accusations, and division. Investigate quietly, charge when the evidence is ready, prosecute fairly, and, where guilt is proven, secure a conviction. Let the people's business continue while justice takes its course.
Good morning from #ABettaPlace!
A big congratulations to the graduating class of Brixton Hill Primary and Infant School!
Mr. Tilden Falconer represented me at last week’s ceremony as we celebrated this important milestone for our students, parents and teachers.
We announced that we will support them by covering the school fees for all Brixton Hill Primary and Infant School students transitioning to high school.

If all the students are studying Law, Accountants, and social studies who are going to apply for those jobs. It’s time to get into those schools and see for yourself what they are teaching.
My two cents on the diaspora conversation. Not a debate or rebuttal of what anyone else thinks.
Many in the diaspora did not leave Jamaica out of choice, but out of necessity. For decades, economic instability, structural inequality, and political leadership failures created conditions that pushed people out rather than giving them a reason to stay. From the post-independence struggles of the 1970s and 1980s, marked by economic crisis, IMF interventions, and political violence, to ongoing challenges with governance and opportunity, the pattern has been too consistent. Too many Jamaicans have been FORCED to seek survival and stability elsewhere. This is not a new thing, it is rooted in a long history of migration driven by limited options at home. The diaspora itself is evidence of that reality. At the same time, many still want to return. But they are not willing to come back to the same circumstances that forced them to leave in the first place, and rightly so. I am not advocating for anything that would resemble absentee decision-making, but it’s impossible to dismiss why these conversations continue to surface. This issue goes far beyond remittances; it’s about identity, accountability, and a legitimate, historically grounded stake in the country’s future. I rest my case.🇯🇲
All deported persons should return to their country of origin. We should not have to take any. But that’s how the cookie crumbles when you are not independent. Same question with tourism if they stop coming for some reason.
Everyone has an opinion about deportees.
The harder question is this:
What should a small island state do when saying no to a superpower comes at a cost?
My substack this week explores the difficult calculations Caribbean governments face when principle, diplomacy, and national interest collide.
The Price of Saying No is now live. (Link below) ⬇️

Did Jamaica miss this @AndrewHolnessJM bombshell?
Visionary PM Dr @AndrewHolnessJM stepping it up many notches.
PM now zooms in on a new phase for 🇯🇲. He believes, tourism is great, we appreciate / grateful for the robust industry but time to welcome wealth by residency.✅️
Two issues to think about on this matter. Singapore has two different cultures. Dubai populations is artificially. Which would not work in Jamaica. The Country should be much easier to control and develop.
🚨PM Holness told Jamaica's business community we should stop dreaming about tourist dollars, and start thinking like Dubai and Singapore.
That's a big statement. But is it a realistic one?
Let's break it down. 🇯🇲
