@blakestbanter No doubt. I’ve convinced myself Doyle is on his way to Super Stardom, NoJo can bounce back, and all 4 infielders have Gold Glove potential. Maybe that painful optimism will be rewarded, but if not I’ll still watch 120 games… 😂
The worst part about this is that 34 year old Jacob Stallings is going to get most of the games left. Not the 23 year olds who should be/have been called up already.
It’s hard to be a GM but it can’t be THIS hard. Maybe hire an Analytics Director that isn’t 24 with 3 roommates.
@blakestbanter Agreed. And maybe this will change next year with Chuck/Cave likely out (however sad that may be) but Goody has always felt like a DH anyway? An interesting spot to be in - feeling like the OF may soon be crowded (Beck, Veen, Fernandez, etc) if they all pan out as advertised
@blakestbanter All respect to Stallings, Cave & Chuck (obviously) but personally I’d like to see the over-30s only play if someone needs a day off. Season’s a wash, use the last 40 games to get some guys some ABs.
Easy to say, more goes into it, I know. But it’s a lot of “wait til you see XYZ”
@blakestbanter I’m saying we’ve seen this before. Since Diaz got hurt it’s been Stallings. Goodman could catch or be in RF but he’s playing what, every 3rd day? Can’t get a rhythm going.
I’d love to be wrong but I don’t see a world where Romo gets called up with any immediacy.
Russell Wilson already has $39 million guaranteed for 2024, but he has an additional $37M that would become guaranteed if he can’t pass a physical by early March.
Denver’s move to sit him assures that money won’t trigger. And Denver does this at a time when Wilson is the NFL’s seventh-rated passer, with 26 touchdown passes and eight INTs.
