I'm so tired of "record corporate profits" and "we can't afford to staff properly" being said in the same breath. Walmart made $160 billion in profit last year but can't afford to hire enough cashiers so you wait 20 minutes in line. The money exists, it's just not for labor.
Hi everyone,
RGBMTL is a collective curation: 25-30 people each select 5-10 artists.
We run an open call: 42 artists were selected from the open call this year.
Despite this, not everyone will be featured, even artists we personally know well & appreciate.
RGBMTL is almost here 🖤
This is my third year curating for @RGB_MTL , and I’m so happy to bring these artists into this year’s edition:
terrafold
Naomi Oliver
Arrdon
waterflower
@Nebular___@petersonsart
Excited to bring their work to screens!
Yes, in fact, I do think the guy flipping burgers at McDonald’s should be able to afford rent, bills, and groceries with his paycheck alone. That’s kind of the whole point of having a job and I can’t believe this is considered a radical position for me to take.
get a second, third, fourth job. just kidding no jobs will hire. save money. just kidding everything is so expensive you’ll have nothing to spare. don’t go out. don’t have experiences. don’t live. you can’t afford it. life is awesome! don’t complain!
I smoke weed, I keep it low-key, and I respect non-smokers' space. But the non-stop anti-weed propaganda on here is exhausting. A weed smell fades in two minutes, but alcohol turns entire city blocks into absolute biohazards every weekend and society treats it like wholesome social bonding.
Can’t afford to travel. Can’t afford to see live music. Can’t afford art supplies. Can’t afford physical media. Can’t afford new clothes. Can’t afford to go on dates or out to eat. Can’t even afford to take time off work just to stay home. They have really taken every possible thing that could give you any glimmer of happiness.
I hate work.
Like, I HATE work.
Not necessarily my job. I hate the whole fking system of waking up at the same time, driving to the same place, doing the same shit for five days straight just to earn two days of “freedom” that I’m too exhausted to actually enjoy.
Saturday is spent recovering.
Sunday is spent thinking about Monday.
Then Monday comes, and we do the whole damn thing AGAIN.
I’m not lazy. I work. I show up. I handle my sh*t.
I just refuse to believe we were put on this earth to spend most of our lives waiting for the weekend.
