Being part of a generation that was told “Wikipedia is not a source” makes it genuinely baffling to me that jobs are now telling people to just use ChatGPT for everything.
I've created a mailing list for doujinshi fans in North America. I'll be using it to spread information about new & future doujin events across the US and Canada. If you're interested in participating or attending more doujin events around your local area, please sign up!

unfortunately i've had my first experience getting a chargeback filed after a finished commission.. Not only that but I had to pay an extra dispute fee on top of the cost. Then i find out they're filing them to my friends as well- if you're in the RE community please keep an eye-
as a translator, it makes me so happy to see our craft being respected and compensated. our industry has the most negatively (and directly) affected job market due to the surge of AI. it’s incredibly hard to sustain a career in this field, my heart goes out to every one of us❤️
We watched The Lives of Others last night and Katy had to explain to me that after the wall fell, they made all Stasi secret police records public and you could look and see every file they had on you. People learned that friends, family, spouses had been informing on them
A few months ago I was sitting on a bench in Tel Aviv with a colleague, and an older Israeli man came up to us and asked if he can sit with us. We said yes, so he asked what we were working on. We said we're making a film about the West Bank.
"What do you think about the Arabs?", he asked. Instead of answering, I asked what he thought.
"A good Arab is a dead Arab", he answered.
This was said 5 minutes into the conversation, to a complete stranger. This is a normal thing to say in Israeli society, even in the hyper-liberal Tel Aviv.
If you need to partner with AI to get a greenlight on your project, it ain't worth it. I know it's super frustrating out there rn but nothing makes replacing your peers with automated garbo justified. Nothing. We gotta hold the line on this one or we're f*cked.
‘The Good Advice Cupcake’ creator Loryn Brantz says she is “horrified and disgusted” after BuzzFeed allegedly gave her character to an AI platform without her involvement.
She also called for a boycott of BuzzFeed and AI-produced animation.
if you watched the success of manga ichiba this weekend and feel inspired to bring doujin culture to your locale, shoot me a DM! We're gathering folks interested in running doujinshi events in NA and we'd love to hear from you!! ✍️
The USDA has kept raccoon rabies out of the central United States for over 30 years by air-dropping fish-flavored ravioli from helicopters.
Each one is a small packet coated in fishmeal with an oral rabies vaccine inside. Raccoons, foxes, coyotes, and skunks find them by smell, bite through, and swallow.
Many animals that consume the bait develop immunity, helping build a protective barrier across populations.
The bait is generally considered safe for pets and tested in many non-target species.
The USDA's Wildlife Services has been running this since 1995. Without the bait program, raccoon rabies very likely would have spread much further west.
A federal program you've probably never heard of is protecting your pets and your kids by feeding wild animals ravioli from a helicopter.
