5 percent may be too much for some athletes.
These may be more realistic jumps for some athletes...
4.5% - 7:00 - 21:53 to 20:54
4.0% - 6:30 - 20:19 to 19:30
3.5% - 6:00 - 18:45 to 18:05
3.0% - 5:30 - 17:12 to 16:41
2.5% - 5:00 - 15:38 to 15:14
Athletes:
If you want to be "locked in" mentally in the last 5-10 minutes of a race, doesn't it make sense to do the same thing in the last 5-10 minutes of every workout and long run?
Practice your mental skills multiple times a week.
Let's go!
Exercising 150 minutes per week for 4 months is equally as effective as taking an antidepressant for depression, review finds.
Get outside and get moving.
Start small and easy. For many, a walk is enough when you are starting.

For HS team sport athletes, run track.
Why? Anyone can get big.
Speed is what separates playmakers on the field.
Colleges often look for speed over strength/size.
Why? They know they can always add strength.
What is much more difficult, especially as we age, adding speed.
The beauty of NXN is that time doesn't matter, only place. At Runninglane the only thing that really matters is time, so if conditions aren't great, it's a waste. And in the end XC is all about place, not time.

High school and youth sports are so valuable because they get at our basic psychological needs:
-We belong
-We can make progress
-We can have an impact
It's not about achievements. It's having a space to challenge ourselves in a healthy way.
Don't ruin sports, parents!
