Pic for the day: The wash stills at Longmorn distillery. Longmorn is a little unusual in that the wash stills & spirit stills are in separate rooms - a result of expansions in the 1970's whilst trying to adapt and work with the original Victorian buildings from the 1890's...

Being stuck in roadworks sometimes has its advantages. It gave me time to look out the window at The Cairn Distillery which is being constructed just outside Grantown-on-Spey by Gordon & MacPhail. Opening is planned for 2022.

Just over a year ago I got a sneak preview of the new tasting area at @TheGlenlivet never imagining I wouldn’t get to take visitors there. It will be completely different when we next get to visit as it is being completely refurbished in the Covid imposed “downtime”.

A year ago today I never expected this to be my last visit for the foreseeable future. It was a beautiful day, and a fun tour. My group came from Argentina, a grandfather, father and son group who were visiting for the Six Nations Rugby Tournament.
