Our brains are only about 1/4 developed at birth because if it was fully or even halfway developed it would be too large and rip the mother open. So humans are born with only 1/4 of our brain developed while the rest develops outside of the womb. Compared to other mammals with smaller cognitive capacity that can be born with 3/4 or more of their brain developed at birth.
