5th generation farmer in the borderland of SW Manitoba. Our farm's vision is simple.. #Regenerate. Integrating bison production with a diverse cropping system
@mcrae_brett@DrBart_Beef@kathy_a_larson This snow doesn't appear to have very much moisture in it. Usually our bison stop coming to water when we have good snow but so far they are coming to water daily
@mcrae_brett@DrBart_Beef@kathy_a_larson I will have this for you shortly. We have 200 beef cows we just starting watering through a cistern and we should be able to measure it
@CoverCropCanada@KevinElmy@BRRG_Ag Owning livestock not necessary. Very true kevin. We don't own these cows or the land but are custom grazing them. Feels like a win for all 3 parties this winter to keep these cows out grazing
SSCA field day is next week already! We will be meeting at Gladmar Park around noon, then head out to field/pasture tours. Supper will be held back at the park. A chance to talk in person again!

@tpotwilson We have all our 19 light corn also but were lucky enough to have some heavy corn this year to blend out with. We have the same trouble with deer in winter. Temp wire is tough with wildlife
@tpotwilson Ic. That sucks. If it's that light just turn them out in the whole field. We got early frost too. Cost yield and weight but the corn is still marketable. Still taking off some grazing corn now
@SE_ResearchFarm@Shar_McGregor Lots of options in sunflowers. Worked great for me. Between 30" sunflower rows. Grazed after sunflower harvest. 9 species I think with 2 survived winter for early spring season grazing
