IOBA's Virtual Book Fair opens tomorrow at noon (EST), and ends at 5 p.m. (EST) Sunday, Nov. 22nd. More than 80 IOBA members from the United States and other countries will exhibit books, ephemera, manuscripts, autographs, photographs, and maps throughout the three-day fair.
In 1959 a librarian called the police on 9-r-old Ronald McNair after he refused to leave a segregated library without letting him check out his books.
He went on to become an astronaut and died aboard Challenger. The library that refused to lend him books is now named after him.
@Caladex_books I, too, was watching it at my grandmother’s house on a black and white tv. She was born when it was still horse and buggy days. To see men fly to the moon in her lifetime was beyond incredible.
