Something I learned for @EdMylett today is “learned helplessness” is when you believe that other people control your life. That is a flawed belief. Other people DO NOT control your opportunities, relationships, or any other aspect of your life. You control your life.

Which is kind of like a “duh” statement, but put it into perspective. If you constantly think things happen TO you and not FOR you or THROUGH you, you won’t react in a positive manner. You have to see everything as a benefit or a lesson.
