The family of Kendrick Johnson has announced that they're suing the GBI and Lowndes County Sheriff in a new lawsuit.
Kendrick, a 17-year-old found dead in a rolled-up wrestling mat at his high school in 2013.
Alabama high school band director Johnny Mims was tased repeatedly and arrested by Birmingham police after he refused to immediately stop the band as it played in the bleachers following a football game.
The band was taking part in what they call “The Fifth Quarter,” a segment after the game which many high schools and historical Black Colleges play music.
