@ericweinstein You always prefer to imagine the "other side" (of so many issues) as extreme and uniform while you are, of course, complex and nuanced. It's become hard to take you seriously.
1/12 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is upon us. So it’s time for my yearly rant to educators about the white-washing and co-opting of King’s “I Have A Dream” speech.
@veronikellymars Have you read Real Food for GD by Lily Nichols? She uses research based info, which is often pretty different than what's commonly recommended. Her books helped me a ton!!
@BejayOsby@APS_SarahSmith @APS_SmithPTO @SarahSmithEF Oh no, I am so sad to hear this! Mr. Terry was truly wonderful and brightened my day so many times. He will be missed!
@lindaholmes@pchh Just popping in to say I love your writing - the novel and the newsletters - and I'm also super excited about the expansion to five days, especially as it means more talk about books! Thank you!!
@misskubelik All of this is me! (Except your version!) I wore one of my dad's short sleeved button up shirts for picture day in 3rd grade because it made me feel edgy and hip. 🤣 (I am now a school librarian, ftr...)
@cvaldary You are absolutely correct. But the vast majority of people who have been protesting are doing it without looting. The people causing damage are a tiny percent of the whole. The protest movement shouldn't be condemned because of those few.
That “anti-white” sentiment people keep talking about is just the erosion of what I call the “privilege of individuality.”
White people aren’t accustomed to being lumped together and being defined by the actions of others.
Welcome to the club.
