I’m old enough to remember when Diane Abbott became the most hated politician in the UK for drinking a mojito on the tube. Meanwhile the Tories continue to raid the coffers in plain sight and receive a vote of “no confidence from Police Federation and RNLI. Pic ColdWarSteve
@GWandShows@BBCTwo Wish you were talking about how lawns no longer have to be perfect (your bare patch would repair over a few mows). What about meadows, rewilding, looking after not only the next generation, but the next seven generations. Come on @GWandShows let's move with the times
@Quicktake @IwriteOK There are three problems:
1) removing the plastics in nature
2) managing the plastics in production
3) shifting plastics to biodegradable materials
No countries recycle 100%, not even Japan (84%) or Germany (60%).
The world can't keep pumping out plastics at this rate.
“We are practically inundated with plastics.”
Hundreds of workers, volunteers and officers in Bolivia are trying to clean up the years of pollution that have left Lake Uru Uru covered in plastic
@ShappiKhorsandi We have not treated our lawn for 10 plus years and treat at least half of lawn as a meadow to encourage bees and insects and try in our patch to combat climate change where we can. We have a lot of moss in our lawn which appeared over time which we are happy with. Can be very dry
Sir David Attenborough: “We can reduce carbon emissions by consuming less or reusing some of our resources. But the biggest saving we could make would be to stop using fossil fuels for our energy...” continued

This #HolocaustMemorialDay we remember the 6 million jews and other victims of Nazi persecution.
We remember that genocide does not start with genocide.
It starts with the denial of rights, attacks on truth, the rule of law and democracy.
We say #NeverAgain.
Tomorrow, the Conservatives can do the right thing and vote with Labour to #CancelTheCut to Universal Credit.
Their cut will cost six million families £1,000 a year and push 200,000 children into poverty.
It's the worst possible time to strip support from families who need it.
@Mmelulu Yes, I was appalled when listening to him be in interviewed on the radio this morning. More hypocrisy and blatant lies. Does anyone seriously believe anything that is said by those quarters any more?
Today, amidst all the debate on details of the trade deal, one fundamental truth remains: that at a time of global insecurity, we’re no longer part of one of history’s greatest & most noble projects -bringing nations together to build peace out of the ruins of war #BrexitReality
Good on @Ed_Miliband for challenging #Marr on his parroting of myth of complete sovereignty.
*Any* agreement involves benefits & obligations - you can’t have one without the other. Shame on @AndrewMarr9 for constant interruption & failure to allow answers to his own questions
