@jasonconnor0824 And again, Helen of Troy is a fictional character. She’s not this historical highly regarded figure that you want her to be. The acting in this film is more important than how you want a character to look. She’s also described as the most beautiful woman in the world. Not Greece.
@jasonconnor0824 Ppl complained about things other than acting with Ledger. That’s the parallel situation that you refuse to either understand or acknowledge. The complaints about HL were seeped in homophobia because of brokeback mountain. Same as complaints about Lupita arent based on her acting
@jasonconnor0824 This has literally happened before. There are multiple movies where Egyptians were played by white people and the outrage was no where close to deafening.
@jasonconnor0824 That may have been the case centuries ago but that’s not factual today. People don’t pray to Zeus. And from my understanding most people back then didn’t either. These are stories about made up figures. So at the end of the day, it kind of is just myth.
@jasonconnor0824@Bruxo1472393 We can go as slow as you need to. And since both of these movies are fictional, TDK based on a comic book and Odyssey based on Greek mythology (keyword myth), their appearances doesn’t really matter.
@jasonconnor0824 Again, that wasn’t the only thing people complained about with Ledger though. The criticisms they received come from a place that isn’t solely based on their acting. Some people are less concerned about acting in a movie and more concerned about how they want an actress to look.
