last night at an OpenAI community event, the mic got passed around and a guy said he was missing his kid's birthday party to be there
we need alcoholics anonymous but for AI
"what's your moat" is such a shitty question in the AI era
of course others could just go build it. why ask in the first place if that's your response?
imma start asking VCs "okay, then what's your moat vs Sequioa? whats stopping Benchmark from winning deals from you?"
Toronto my hometown and favourite city in the whole world I’m begging you not to elect a guy named Bradford Bradford to any political office but especially please don’t vote for him for mayor. We’re just getting our shit together we don’t need that loser.
computer use agents today are still operating through interfaces that were primarily designed for humans. that works reasonably well when the agent is operating on its own, but gets awkward when you want to keep using the same interface while the agent is working alongside you.
i think a more interesting direction the industry might take is to stop treating this purely as an agent capability problem and start redesigning interfaces around agents being first-class users. humans and agents should be able to work in parallel, hand tasks back and forth, and interact with the same underlying state without constantly getting in each other’s way.
i think we will see a lot more interfaces built from agentic first principles over the next few years. and that idea might eventually extend beyond software itself into operating systems, phones, or entirely new kinds of hardware designed around an agent being present from the start.
Half of the world is scrambling to live within 2 hours of Toronto's radius and people who managed to clinch a spot in the city talk about it like it's shithole in the dessert. I don't get it at all.
