Man…that Resident Evil ending still has me messed up. You spend the whole movie rooting for Bryan like he’s the main character. He does everything right, almost makes it, begs for the cure with whatever’s left of him…and the syringe just drops, the only cure drops nearly 30 stories into the dark. And the T-Virus takes his body, turns the scientists trying to save him into part of the monster, and by the time the helicopters arrive, Bryan is basically a William Birkin-style boss fight on the hospital roof not the courier who fought his way there. and you realize you weren’t watching a hero’s story, you were watching the origin of the next boss. That’s so fucking Resident Evil it hurts. #ResidentEvil
