@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride You’re not even trying to be logical bc you’re just assuming everyone who watched Aot s1 was already animen fans. The idea that something can be good, and become popular and then mainstream is foreign to you. that’s literally the whole topic of this entire thread
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride Then you incorrectly assume I meant it was the first dark anime and then around claim you were right? You literally did it again RIGHT NOW after I nicely corrected you on what I meant too.
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride You just wanna be right bc you got some vendetta against Aot of all things for some reason. You’re acting like fuck dragon ball or fuck Naruto. I have no problem giving those shows their flowers but you’d sooner die than admit AOT was the start of anime being mainstream.
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride And I already told you this is known to people who watch anime. Just bc mfs in your family knew anime could be dark doesn’t mean shit. Aot literally exposed darker story telling to normies. That’s literally it. That’s my whole argument.
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride Nah I’m still standing on that though. If Aot was never as popular as it was, nobody would’ve ever seen how dark anime could be. It goes hand in hand. You gotta know ab anime to know how dark and serious it gets.
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride Like I said man, yall were just ahead of the curve. Nothing wrong w that. But you can’t assume everybody and their mama was watching anime bc we both know that wasn’t the case. Mfs were getting bullied left and right for doing ki struggle at recess 😭
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride Aot is literally the most popular out of every single anime you just listed even to this day. Idgaf ab arguing ab what’s better bc you already assumed I think it’s AOT anyways and ur still wrong. AOT made anime popular to normies. That’s it. You were simply ahead of the curve.
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride You can literally sit here and say this bc you watch anime. You are not the demongraphic im talking about. These were popular to people who watch anime. If you don’t know anything about how people got dogged in for liking anime between 2000-2015, then you’re literally just young.
@_uzuhiko@kamohel23365464@edeniaspride 100% Demon Slayer is arguably the biggest anime out right now. No denying it. But it’s not bc it made anime mainstream, it’s bc they had a solid story and fights, and well executed advertising and release schedules. It’s them reaping what they sowed.
@_uzuhiko@kamohel23365464@edeniaspride Demon Slayer came out during a rich period for anime. So many simulcasts at that time so it only makes sense people would watch a new anime while waiting for episodes. And obviously it was good. They’ve had years to establish a fan base, blue ball them, and run their business.
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride If it wasn’t for Toonami and Dragon Ball, anime might never have even touched the west. It was the bridge and no one can ever take that away from it. But AOT had people who never watched anime enthralled bc they didn’t know anime could so dark or serious
@DlerAccount@spursducke@_uzuhiko@edeniaspride Nah it 100% was the reason. Naruto, DB and Pokémon might’ve gotten all of us into anime back then, but it’s also the reason why mfs got bullied for liking it. Once they saw Eren’s mom get sampled they realized there was some darker shit going on in anime.
