@cboyack This thread is 🔥, Mr. Boyack. It scratched my 'X' itch today. It's the (very real) reformed Egyptian to my (extremely real, and evaporating) golden plates.

The big difference here is that Purdy's average depth of target on completions in the regular season (7.5 yards) is over three yards further than Mahomes (4.3).
The MVP discourse this year was broken, and it’ll probably be reflected in the voting results — people moved to disqualify Brock Purdy because of one bad game, instead of focusing on the big picture of work where he ranked #1 across the board.
Super Bowl MVP should be the single-game award; not the regular season MVP.
Fittingly, Purdy’s excellent season-long performance — even though it might not get recognized with the MVP — positioned him to win the actual single-game award in two weeks
In the second half tonight, the @49ers' Brock Purdy:
- threw for 150+ yards
- rushed for 45+ yards
- completed 80% of his passes
- averaged 10.0+ yards per rush
- had 0 turnovers
No other NFL QB in the last 30 years has done all of that in a single half (reg or post). Source @OptaSTATS
I think about this twice a day.
Every morning when I sit down to read & then when I sit down to write, I say to myself,
"Accept the initial agitation."
When you try to focus, Andrew Huberman explains, "the brain circuits that turn on first are of the stress system."
Meaning:
"The agitation and stress that you feel at the beginning of something—when you're trying to lean into it and you can't focus—is just a recognized gate.
You have to pass through that gate to get to the focus component."
There's a common misconception, Huberman continues,
"The misunderstanding around how certain brain circuits work has led to this idea that there's some secret entry point—maybe marked 'flow' on the door—and there's a trampoline up to that door, and you just open that door, and you're immediately in [a deep state of focus].
And nothing could be further from the truth."
The truth is:
"There is a gate of entry. You have to wade through some sewage before you can swim in clear water. That's the way I always think about it."
I once told Andrew that I say to myself, "accept the initial agitation," every time I sit down to read or write, and he said, "the agitation is indeed the doorway to the whole process."

The anticipation Brock throws with is absolutely insane, and needs to be acknowledged on a National platform.
It's literally up there with Mahomes. In real time, I thought he overshot McCaffrey by 3-5 yards.
Nope, right in stride. Before he even turns up field.
