@djsmith42@ryanflorence think of the things that AI can’t do (yet), eg judgment, understanding, taste, clarity, vision, focus, ethics etc and work out how to contribute those things as much as possible
@suchnerve I would add that the best projects to distract from thoughts are ones that involve you having to concentrate on your senses. What you see, touch, smell, hear, etc.
@1masoren@suchnerve I think there is a battery powered train in Australia that never has to be externally charged because it carries iron ore downhill and goes uphill empty (at least, according to their marketing team)
@housecor personal branches: no need for clean, just savepoints, can follow via git log how dev worked on issue
main branch: 1 commit per PR/MR, small units of atomic business changes
@jamison_dance “A Russian official’s threat to strike western satellites aiding Ukraine has raised concerns among space lawyers” (from The Guardian) … so apparently space lawyers are a thing?
@zzzeek I vaguely remember dict.items() complaining if you change the underlying dict while iterating, if that is something that could be considered atomic.
@jacobian It’s great that GDPR etc mandate notifications, but I do generally assume that vague notifications = bad, because if they were certain it wasn’t env vars, you would think they would go out of their way to say that.
@kcunning I wonder how many ppl in the world did the exact same thing: three elimination rounds, that 4th round guess, then a wait to come up with probably the only word left for those chars. A shared experience that no one will talk about.
@thattommyhall@mrchrisadams makes sense: each “country” has to deal with their own pollution/water use. there is no annoying upstream neighbour to have to negotiate/fight with over the water that flows over borders. plus it’s much harder (also less deadly) to change borders.
