First fully literate state
Then first digitally literate state
N now this.
Keeping aside political ideologies, y can't the other states adopt the ways that Kerela took to achieve these milestones.
Zubeen Da was like Kanchenjunga - honest, unshakable, and beautiful.
India and Assam have lost not just an artist, but a towering soul who touched countless hearts.
Zubeen Da’s family, and the people of Assam, deserve nothing less than truth and justice. The government must ensure a swift and transparent investigation.
I stand with his family in their grief, and offer my full support in every way possible.
@NalinisKitchen Because China has got no dehatis in their country. Our govt might develop one such but what will be the condition in two days??
Our country people lacks civic sense.
Hence don't deserve this kinda development as well
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that there will be no VIP or VVIP arrangements for the upcoming Ambubachi Mahayog at the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati.
In line with the new guidelines, pilgrims are instructed to leave their footwear under the Nilachal Flyover before proceeding towards the Kamakhya temple. Furthermore, entry for devotees inside the temple will be prohibited from 8:30 pm on June 23.

@CMOfficeAssam@himantabiswa Is there any chance of post-graduates including in this scheme?
We are equally facing financial problems in applying for various exams and interviews.
If possible please include the post-graduates as well.
I’m a middle-aged man, born and raised in Guwahati. My wife is from the hills of Nagaland and belongs to one of its indigenous tribes. We’ve been together for over 25 years and have raised two daughters.
Lately, I’ve been hearing worried whispers about how a couple from mainland India went missing during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Suddenly, people are questioning the safety of the hills and painting its people with suspicion.
Let me offer a more grounded perspective, shaped by years of lived experience:
* Tribal people are not wired for premeditated violence or crime.
* They are fiercely independent and proud, but not hostile.
* Their social structure is deeply rooted in clan and tribal unity—individuals rarely act against their collective conscience.
* Loyalty to their land, tribe, and natural resources runs deep. This loyalty is sacred.
* Fringe elements, when they arise, are often dealt with internally by the community, not through the conventional criminal justice system.
* Yes, they can be extremely protective—especially when it concerns their land, water, and rights.
* Women in the hills enjoy freedom in ways that many parts of India are yet to catch up with. Be it in love or in livelihood, they make their own choices.
* For women travellers, the North-East remains one of the safest regions to explore—any time of the year.
Don’t let isolated incidents cloud your judgment. The people of the hills are among the most hospitable, honest, and dignified you’ll ever meet.
Indore Couple Case: Just a few days back, many defamed, demeaned Northeast & Meghalaya specifically after the couple went missing, later the husband’s body was found.
“Unsafe, Tantric Magic, Locals being dangerous,” and what not?
All such commentators today must apologise.
This not only hampered the Northeast’s image, but also the tourism economy as a whole.
Sonam (wife) hired three assailants to kill her husband during their honeymoon in Meghalaya’s Sohra.
Sources tell me that a young Congress leader’s family (whose wife allegedly has ISI links) is scheduled to fly to UK tonight, where they are expected to stay until Assam elections conclude.
His recent visit to Delhi appears to have been primarily to see off his family before returning to Assam
