I don't see the big deal here, if they draw this next game and lose to Rochdale, they still finish second tho.
So there's no way 2 is greater than 3.
Get 3 in the next one, work a draw against Rochdale.
Surely that's enough?
Peak football drama has found its way to the fifth tier of English football. Let me explain to you/
York City are 1st on the table and they do not need to win a football match to guarantee winning the league. And they could in fact lose the league if they get just 1 win out of their 2 last games rather than 2 draws.
That sentence is correct. Welcome to the National League.
York are top with 104 points after 44 games. Rochdale are second with 102. Both have two games left.
Crucially, they play each other on the final day.
Now here is the maths. You may find it funny.
If York draw both of their remaining games, they will finish on 106 points. The best Rochdale can do is also 106 points. But York's goal difference is +70 against Rochdale's +46. York will win the title and earn themselves automatic promotion to League Two.
But if York win their next game and then lose the final day clash to Rochdale, they finish on 107 points. Rochdale can then finish on 108. York will drop to second.
And in the National League, only the champions go up automatically. Second place goes into the playoffs, where anything can happen.
So two draws equals a guaranteed title. While 1 win equals possible heartbreak.
The final day fixture between York and Rochdale is now one of the most fascinating matches in English football this weekend. Both teams know exactly what is at stake. One of them has every reason to settle for a draw. The other has every reason not to let them.
I will be upating you. Or maybe not.

Well, I don't think I'll ever make it.
Too many bad decisions.
Gotta keep going tho.
Not the end of the world yet.
Making it is at 48.30 odds rn, and hey, Bayern won from that.
Who knows.
