our universe is pretty rare in configuration space - if strong nuclear force were:
* 1% weaker - stars wouldnt make much carbon preventing carbon based life & less heavy element production would delay planet formation & take longer for evolution to occur before stars die
* 1% stronger - stars wouldnt make much oxygen preventing water/earth based life & stars burn faster shortening the time for complex life to emerge
* 10% weaker - deuterium's binding energy drops breaking critical step in steller fusion leading to a universe of mostly hydrogen, no stable stars & no planets for life to evolve & universe cools too quickly
* 10% stronger - diprotons are now possible & thus a critical rate limit to fusion is removed & most hydrogen is converted to helium & thus no free hydrogen & no long lived stars as stars burn out quickly - universe becomes filled with heavy elements but becomes inert quickly making it impossible for life
the chart for each of these alternative universes would have a small to negligible galactic habitable zone and limited as is:
Discussed with Elon and, in light of beautiful Arcadia’s birthday, we felt it was better to also just share directly about our wonderful and incredible son Seldon Lycurgus. Built like a juggernaut, with a solid heart of gold. Love him so much ♥️
@xai@ebbyamir For those curious to know more about the design process behind the logo creation.
Gargantua was partly a visual inspiration, coming from the https://t.co/oKWpZpfDGQ team. There were other cultural references as well. Dune, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Interstellar, etc.
