@whysohaard And that's the beauty of debate, we will always have a side we believe is right. Of course its awful for the students no one said it wasn't. Do you not have any compassion at all for a man who gave 23 years to the school to be suspended and left completely in the dark by STU
@whysohaard@stursulas_neu That's only if someone will sit down with them. When you ask to meet the head with all these issues you can ask her why she didn't meet with the union
I think it’s fair to say that 600 students combined loss of an entire month of learning and all of the instability that follows is worse than whatever Alex went through.
@rcaoseducation What are your thoughts on the egregious amount of strike days at @stursulas_sch ? A month of school missed bc of selfishness of staff putting one colleague ahead of student body. 6 days still to go. Please help the students. @stursulas_neu
Over a month of strike days. Nothing is worth taking that many school days away from innocent students. The evidence should have spoken for itself. No dirty dealing. No holding students hostage. No abuse of strike power. This was very poor behavior by @stursulas_neu
Please amend your procedures @Royal_Greenwich. We need proportionality &guardrails where strikes are concerned. This was the most egregious abuse of strike power I’ve ever heard of. The students suffered badly and after Covid, I worry for their futures. Shame on @stursulas_neu
There is always a choice. The strikes were egregious, punitive, childish and inappropriate. Adults sit down and negotiate. They don’t walk out and leave the futures of 600 students in the balance. @stursulas_neu
I really hope you’ve realized that it’s the power of the evidence and not the disruption and distraction you chaos you cause that wins. The behavior of @stursulas_neu was disgraceful this year. 18+ strike days impacting 600 families for one teacher. Way to prioritize education 😆
@NEUnion And when your school is on strike, even more children go hungry @stursulas_neu I am talking to you. How many days is it now? About a month of school days this year alone you have decided to picket instead of educate. @warwickmansell@mtpennycook@rcaoseducation
One suggestion: safeguarding students from excessive strikes. @stursulas_neu has taken about 18 school days away from students. V bad for mental health, learning, family structure, stability, etc etc
4.2 million pupils in England now have mental health support teams, and we're on track to meet our target to support at least 50% of pupils by the end of March 2025.

To me it seems like a way to express your frustration but it does not seem like a way to actually solve your problem. But after the amount of strikes we’ve had, I’m looking for an outlet myself! Maybe a counter-strike will do it.
@warwickmansell@stursulas_neu@rcaoseducation@mtpennycook Appreciate you responding. System definitely broken. But excessive striking feels punitive more than pointed. Our case is also employment related - one teacher’s suspension. canceling a month of school feels very childish. GSCE’s, Christmas fair, parents night etc all strikes.
how does excessive striking help? a) breaks trust b) impacts families c) punishes students who ostensibly are not the impetus for the strike. PLEASE EXPLAIN
I kinda want to go to @stursulas_sch may 3 to see if the @stursulas_neu is actually picketing. Maybe they want a longer weekend. Who else thinks they won’t make it until lunch 🫣 seriously, enough is enough. Can’t these girls finish the year without more of your BS? @mtpennycook
Who else finds it hilarious that @stursulas_neu are striking on a Friday of a bank holiday weekend? I mean…. How convenient is this for everybody? 🤣🤣🤣 and also, how sad. Stop already. Let the kids learn. @rcaoseducation@mtpennycook
HELP!!! https://t.co/DwDKSgKV65 Over 600 students attend this needs improvement school where school is never in session. Parents night has been rescheduled due to strikes, school is haemorrhaging teachers, can we have a guarantee from @stursulas_neu no more strikes? @mtpennycook
what about for those of us whose teachers have already been striking on and off for MONTHS? At what point do we say enough is enough, and try a different less nuclear approach @stursulas_neu
#Teacher strike: An option members will seriously consider. The @NEUnion is demanding an above-inflation pay increase this year. If this is not forthcoming then strike action is once again on the table, warns @DanielKebedeNEU in SecEd #teachers#edutwitter https://t.co/Jkxut98QC6
