#OnThisDay in 1999 the Breitling Orbiter 3 took off from Switzerland. It was the first balloon to circumnavigate the globe without landing and was flown by expert pilots Piccard & Jones. The flight covered 40,814 KM and took just under 20 days, eventually landing in Egypt 🎈🌍

At the end of January we would normally be heading out to #Switzerland to take part in the @FestivalBallons but unfortunately COVID has put a stop to that in 2021. It's the first time we haven't been in over 20 years! 💔 We will be definitely be back in 2022! 🎉 #FIBCHAX
