Imagine if India and Pakistan never separated, the ODI team today would have been :
Gill

KL (wk)
Sky
Jadeja
Shami
Kuldeep
Bumrah
Siraj

💰 An increased share of ICC revenue.
📢 The restoration of bilateral cricket with India.
🤝 Enforcement of the handshake protocols in the game. (Cricbuzz).
today was the day when ENG took on NZ in the world cup opener in Ahmedabad. NZ won the game comfortably courtesy Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra who scored a century in his first WC match.
Matt Henry and Santner were the stars with the ball.

No Riyan Parag in the ODI squad when he’s very important for balancing the 2027 team is laughable . Selectors are clueless.
Axar and Sundar won’t work outside Paarl type venues in 2027 and Parag is a straight swap into that role. He’s done well for India A too.
Oh wait... Jadeja has been dropped from ODIs. He actually had a very good CT25 with the ball.... Overall if you see, his batting just doesn't help much in ODIs, maybe that could be the reason.
Why is ODI the least-played format currently??
BCCI can easily schedule a 5-match series whenever they want, but they are simply a puppet of broadcasters who force them to organize only 3-match ODI series.
Bumrah (your premium fast bowler) is rested for a marquee ODI series in Australia, but he plays a Test match vs WI at home immediately after the Asia Cup.
Agarkar and Gambhir's master stroke. 🤣🤣
Agarkar clearly stated that there’s a plan for a three format captain. If that’s the case, then it is only Gill who currently fulfils the role.
but if you ask me who is a better ODI captain in Iyer and Gill, my answer would definitely be Iyer.
