A person w mental illness is more likely to be a victim of crime than perpetrator.
Mental illness prevalence is the same worldwide yet the US has more deaths by firearms than ANY OTHER nation.
Access to guns makes a murderer.
#ItsTheGunsStupid
Let’s be clear. A person experiencing symptoms of a mental illness is far more likely to b a victim of crime and violence than inflict violence on others.
Mental illness does not cause murder. Access to weapons does.
Be careful about the narrative.
@sommerschafer 60% of suicides involve firearms.
People experiencing suicidal ideation can be helped.
Waiting period and requirement to train and properly store guns may prevent impulsive acts.
Make no mistake. Having a mental illness does NOT make a person violent.
Easy access to guns—tools specifically designed to easily kill humans—leads to tragedy.
No one needs an automatic weapon.

This is a great program. Making sure situations with a person experiencing mental health symptoms don’t escalate. #compassion ppl with mental illness are at greater risk of being victims of violence than hurting others.

As a law professor I have read all 200 cases on abortion in Iowa dating back the 1800s. When abortion was illegal in Iowa, there were still many abortions. The only difference back then is that women died.
I am pro-choice because I cannot be complicit in that. We cannot go back.
Today we sisters experienced a tragedy. We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory.
To add to all the excitement building up,for #Bike4Buckelew we are giving away a $100 gift certificate to Mike'sBikes to the next four people who register to either ride, hike or run! Register now https://t.co/50aNOzJHFf
