BREAKING: Apple has effectively ended development of a fully stand-alone AI for Siri.

Instead, Apple is now partnering with Google’s Gemini to help power key AI features across its ecosystem — including next-gen Siri experiences.

"After careful evaluation, Apple determined that Google's Al technology provides the most capable foundation for Apple Foundation Models and is excited about the innovative new experiences it will unlock for Apple users."

According to the Google blog post, Apple Intelligence will still run natively on Apple devices as well as the Private Cloud Compute to maintain privacy standards.

Every time I stick it on charge I have to sit there and wait for it to finish its little dance before I can interact with my device. At the very least, make it consistently interruptible.
