It has to be compared to the Z Fold 8 Ultra eventhough iPhone Ultra is a different form factor. As others have said, Z Fold 8 Ultra base variant RRP is 3000 AUD. iPhone will always be more expensive and people will buy it just because it is Apple. No brainer.

you have to go to the Samsung Store in person on the day after the announcement day to pre-order. Samsung had emailed early registered people $500 total vouchers and on top, I used education discount. They also threw in galaxy buds 4. Which I sold. No trade-in. Total price paid $1380 for 256gb.

Just to clarify for everyone, I never claimed this was official Apple info. I was told directly by my friend at Vodafone Australia that the iPhone Fold pre-orders are in fact opening on September 12th, with pricing at $3,699 for 256GB, $4,199 for 512GB, and $4,699 for 1TB. That's what they shared with me, so I passed it along. If it turns out to be wrong, I'll own it.
