All the feels today. My first year 100% in STEM😭If you told me when I started in NISD 5 yrs ago I would eventually have the opportunity to grow a STEM program from scratch and 3 yrs later make it my full time job-I certainly would have laughed you off. But here we are! #dreamjob
Eye contact, elaborating off content in their slides, speaking clearly and confidently, these kids are trying it all. Conferencing with each team the day after presentations has been such a valuable use of time in our classroom - I’m so proud of how much they’ve grown. 2/2
This year I wanted to place an added focus on presentation skills - from building the presentation to conveying the information in an informative and engaging way. This was my last presentation with my MedTerm group before I go on maternity and I am just so proud 1/2
A week late for posting but some of my fav cardboard furniture projects! Students had to build a piece of furniture for a client with an innovative storage feature. They were so creative and worked so hard on them!
@MrsRLemieux@NatChildress Just saw @NatChildress tweet and came here to say the same thing. The only thing that kept me going sometimes (I personally taught 8 students who lost a parent last year) was knowing God put them in our buildings/classrooms for a very specific purpose. So tough.
Some days you get so caught up in what you need to get done before Monday and then a parent tells you in passing that her daughter wants to pursue sports medicine now because of your class and now you’re crying and all the stress and chaos is sometimes almost worth it.
