Wisconsin Farm Bureau President Brad Olson issued the following statement in response to President Trump’s announcement regarding beef imports last week.
Since 2020, the price of farmland has gone up 70% because of pressure from development. WFBF President Brad Olson joined VFA-endorsed gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany this week on his Protect Our Farmland Tour highlighting the importance of keeping Wisconsin farmland in production and in the hands of Wisconsin farm families.
Farmland is finite. Once it’s gone, we don’t get it back.
The #farmbill matters to all Americans. Few pieces of legislation are more significant than the farm bill when it comes to ensuring our food system is secure.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau appreciates the leadership of @SenRonJohnson in working to return gray wolf management to the states. For Wisconsin farmers, this debate is not about politics or ideology. It is about following data to make sound management decisions. Farm families are expected to rely on science to raise their crops. It’s time we do the same when managing our wildlife and the science is clear: gray wolves have recovered.
Wisconsin Farm Bureau will continue to fight for science taking precedence over feelings because the status quo is unacceptable.
