Yesterday, the Ratepayer Protection Act passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support, 417-3. I was proud to support this legislation because hardworking Americans should not be forced to pay higher electric bills to power massive data centers.

Data centers should pay for the electricity they use, period.

It’s extremely frustrating that Senate Democrats are now blocking a bill that passed the House with such a strong display of bipartisanship. Apparently, lowering electric bills for their constituents isn’t a priority for Senate Democrats.

While returning home from the La Crosse County Lincoln Day Dinner tonight, the plane I was traveling in lost power as we approached the Wausau Downtown Airport. The pilot made an emergency water landing in Lake Wausau.

After landing, we called 911. As the plane began to submerge, we exited the aircraft and swam to a shallow area, where we waited until emergency responders reached us by boat.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to the pilot, the Wausau Fire Department, and all of the first responders who came to our aid so quickly. They got us safely off the water and transported us to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where we received excellent care. Thankfully, both the pilot and I sustained only minor injuries.

God was watching over us tonight, and I am incredibly grateful to be here in the hospital with my wife, Chris, by my side. An experience like this reminds you just how precious life is.

25 years ago today, America was forever changed.

We remember the innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of the Americans who came together in the days that followed.

Perhaps what makes 25 years feel so significant is the contrast. We have seen a dramatic shift in our country since that day, and in some corners, the patriotism, unity, and love of America that defined our nation in the aftermath of 9/11 can feel almost unrecognizable. Too often, patriotism itself is treated as something to be ashamed of rather than something to be proud of.

But that American spirit is not gone.

The vast majority of Americans still believe in this country, cherish our freedoms, and understand that America is worth fighting for. It is our responsibility to carry that spirit forward, defend the freedoms we have been given, and pass that love of country on to the next generation.

We will never forget the victims. We will never forget the heroism. We will never stop fighting for the freedom and ideals that make America worth defending. 🇺🇸

One year ago today, Charlie Kirk was tragically assassinated while exercising his right to speak freely and engage Americans in the political process.

NEW: Chairmen @Jim_Jordan, @RepFitzgerald, @RepDarrellIssa, and @RepBaumgartner sent a letter to the Korea Media and Communications Commission raising concerns about their new amendment that targets American companies and online speech.

Similar to Europe's DSA legislation, South Korea is threatening American social media companies with massive fines and penalties if they don't comply with removing free speech its government disagrees with.

The Committee will always stand for free speech and protect Americans' rights at home and abroad.
