🇨🇦 David Cochrane’s recent CBC segment is pure panic theater.
He sets the tone that “the era of free trade with the United States is over,” then adds that as long as the “MAGA mindset” controls Washington, “there is going to be some baseline tariffs on a lot of key industries.”
He treats the tariff deadline as potential death of the Canada-U.S. relationship, an “irreparable effect” as if Canada’s last decade of free-riding and under-investment was strategic genius.
Contrast that with Mark Carney’s repeated statements over the past year:
• “The days of our military sending 70 cents of every dollar to the United States are over.”
• “Our old relationship with the United States, a relationship based on steadily increasing integration, is over.”
• “That process of deepening integration is over.”
• “The old relationship we had with the United States based on deepening integration of our economies and tight security and military cooperations is over.”
• “As I’ve stressed repeatedly, our old relationship based on steadily increasing integration is over.”
• “That system is over.”
Carney calls the end of deep integration a hard necessity requiring Canadian strength. Cochrane calls the same shift a MAGA catastrophe. One is confronting reality. The other is performing Liberal grievance, and no one knows who is responsible for either.
Cochrane’s framing is not analysis. It is partisan banter from a subsidized Canadian NGO.
🇨🇦 Prime Minister Mark Carney has repeatedly declared that the era of integrated trade and defence with the United States “is over.” He said it clearly, publicly, and on multiple occasions around the world.
Somehow this never registered with CBC’s David Cochrane, who continues to advocate for the very Prime Minister who made it official policy.
Carney announced the end of the “old” relationship for roughly a year now. Canadian negotiators then showed up empty-handed with the largest economy on earth.
Totally shocking result.
If Carney did that, Quebec would vote for independence. The only reason Quebecers remain in Canada is so they can continue extracting Stabilization payments and maintain the dairy and auto sweetheart arrangements with Ontario.
The moment those deals disappear, they are gone. Quebec’s loyalty to Canada has always been transactional, it lasts only as long as the benefits do. I think even they could begrudgingly admit that too.
🔥 BREAKING: Karoline Leavitt is returning to MAGA INC, the Trump SUPER PAC with $400 MILLION+ ahead of the midterms, after she departs the White House — CBS
LFG! 🇺🇸
This is Leavitt's FINAL trip with 47 as a White House official, she told the press she'll miss her job, "but I love my kids even more" ❤️
Leavitt will also be heading to the RNC convention with Trump.
@KarolineLeavitt is going to keep crushing it for America First, it's not over!
🇨🇦 Canadian premiers were reportedly told by PM Mark Carney yesterday that they must restore American alcohol to store shelves or any trade deal that lowers U.S. tariffs is dead.
Doug Ford’s attempt to weaponize the issue and extract concessions from Washington amid public moralizing has backfired spectacularly. Both countries will continue to maintain tariffs on each other’s products.
@KatKanada_TM As an American, I’m not mad at her. The United States gave Canada excellent access to the American economy for decades. Her remarks demonstrate the trade relationship perfectly.
All take and zero reciprocity of any kind.
🇺🇸🇨🇦 President Trump already wrote that we have a “DEAL.” Is Prime Minister Mark Carney going to take it or subject Canada to 50% tariffs this weekend?
Liberal boomer in ratty pyjamas says the way to deter Canadians buying American booze by forcing them to say the word "traitor" in order to be able to make the purchase.
Liberals are DERANGED.
❤️ WOW! President Trump just brought up outgoing press secretary KAROLINE LEAVITT on stage to give her a shoutout at the rally
The crowd went CRAZY for her:
"It has been the honor of my life to serve as your press secretary, sir." 🇺🇸
"I just want to say — President Trump, you are the most consequential and historic president in the HISTORY of our great country."
"I just want to let everyone know how HARD this man works for YOU — you call him at 3AM, 6AM, he picks up the phone, he's looking out for YOU!"
"He needs YOUR help with a Republican Congress for the next 2 years so he can make our country greater, stronger and wealthier than ever before. So GET OUT AND VOTE!" @karolineleavitt
@stephen_taylor Mr. Cochran’s spiteful spoken argument is harmful to public dialogue. I hope he reforms his opinion and takes both sides of the story into account with fairness rather than simply making his opinion public.

🚨California Democrats are in PANIC MODE now that @NickShirleyy is leading a TSUNAMI of patriots to rally at the California Capitol in Sacramento on August 26th.
Everyone that can go should go!
God bless Nick.

CBC's David Cochrane says that as long as "MAGA" has the Whitehouse, the Senate, and Congress, "the era of free trade is over"
Calls Trump's tariff regime a "logical fallacy".
Do you agree with our state broadcaster's opinion?
🚨 JUST IN: President Trump is taking a HUGE victory lap after the Supreme Court stepped in and allowed construction to PROCEED on the White House ballroom military complex
"We are grateful for the Decision of the United States Supreme Court. The Military/Ballroom Complex being built on the hallowed grounds of the White House, which is so vital for National Security, will be THE GREATEST OF ITS KIND!"
"It is something that Presidents have wanted for 150 years, and that the Military has been seeking for the last 100 years. Their wish will soon be fulfilled! Construction is under budget and ahead of schedule. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP"
BIG WIN!
