The problem is that Korea is a deeply fucked up culture

Ask any Korean and they'll agree

I lived in Seoul on/off for a decade and studied at Korea University

The fertility rate is now the lowest in the world

The division between men and women is the highest in the world

Men complain they can't find women to date

Women complain men sexually harass them, film them with spycams, want them to be stay at home house slaves while they go to karaoke bars to fuck prostitutes

Meanwhile NOBODY is direct, everybody is beating around the bush, while cost of living skyrockets, and mental health problems become an epidemic with extremely high suicide rates

Competitively China took over lots of important markets from Korea and Korea doesn't have much raw materials/resources so they can't compete well

AI chips have gone to Taiwan not Korea

So yeah it's highly fucked

One thing that'd help is Koreans leaving Korea and learning int'l DIRECT culture and taking it back to Korea as some do

Don't get me wrong I had a great time living in Korea and everyone was great to me, it's just a very broken culture and again Koreans are the first to tell you that

I recommend anyone to visit and LIVE in Seoul for a few months if you can, you'll learn a lot

Is it similar to Japan's problems in ways? Yes actually, I'd say Korea way more conformist than Japan though, conformity is another problem of Korea btw, the pressure to conform to everyone's expectations every day stresses out Koreans so much
