Health systems are paid 3-5x by Medicare and commercial
Payers for the same treatments.

Health systems used the money to buy competition, raise prices, and then raise premiums.

Of course the policy guys say premiums would have increased faster if private practices were still the majority. Someone always has to write dumb things.

Some days it’s frustrating to watch.

1. You have to be 45 to serve as president, and Rod wasn’t.

2. Once you declare for president, if you drop out, you are ineligible to run for president again or serve as VP. So Rod is stuck being a Senator forever.

The hyperbolic rhetoric around exorbitant hospital CEO pay, while accurate, is ineffective. The real 'metric' to measure admin bloat is *total admin spend/overhead*, tied to patient outcomes, staff satisfaction surveys, staff retention, and patient satisfaction.
