@HideintheSound@Super70sSports I can see the argument, but it doesn’t explain why he still had 50% more points than the next guy. Modern goalie equipment and technique would have impacted Mike Bossy more. Nobody skates down the wing across the blue line and blows a slapshot past the goalie anymore.
@HelmetAddict Bills wore white helmets 80-83, red with blue face mask 84-86, red with white face masks 87-89. I still think the original red helmets looked like a can of Pepsi Free.
@burghboy4ever@FB_Helmet_Guy Same reason they don’t do 70’s patriots that had stripes on the sleeves instead of shoulder. It would just be a red shirt. Almost every player goes sleeveless.
@CFBGuy999 I’m too young to have seen him play, but DE Walt Patulski was Lombardi award winner, finished 9th in the heisman, went 1st overall in the 72 draft, and was on the ND all-century team.
@argent_631 I might be too young to remember anyone else, but I believe Phil’s 77 (Rod Gilbert wore 7) and Ken Hodge wearing 88 opened the door for Wayne wearing 99 in the WHA
@FB_Helmet_Guy Giants throwbacks are like Austin Power talking about time travel.
Our current uniforms began as a throwback because we changed to it from the uniform today which is now a throwback and what about the 1975 disco NY logo? Oh, no, I’ve gone cross eyed…
@Super70sSports Wasn’t that the point? They still ran the same formations as everyone else, their jump coincides exactly to when the bump & run rules were changed. They were just the first team to ask: what if we threw it more?
