We’ve become desensitized to what a billion naira is due to constant headlines of embezzlement.
1 billion naira will pay a ₦500k monthly salary to 10 people for over 16 YEARS!!
1 Month of a Senator's Pay (₦22 Million) can pay
314 Public School Teachers (at the ₦70,000 minimum wage)
183 Registered Nurses (at an average of ₦120,000)
73 Medical Doctors (at an entry-level ₦300,000)
again, class issue. the people doing this cheer and vote for thieving politicians. nigerians as a collective do not hate theft; it is now woven into our culture. they just hate poor thieves
We can’t survive without bees.
We can’t survive without forests.
We can’t survive without healthy oceans.
We can’t survive without clean rivers.
We can’t survive without fertile soil.
And somehow…
we still act as if humans exist separately from nature.
nigerians are very happy with champagne for a few, believing that eventually it will be their turn to drink said champagne. an extremely delusional lot.
