Tremendous evening seeing Simon Armitage perform his poetry inspired by Eldon St. I’m incredibly proud to have walked away with a published anthology containing @TrinityAcadStE students’ poetry. Every day, our students inspire me with their creativity and dedication 🤩❤️

Wow! Wow! Wow!
Simon Armitage, England's Poet Laureate, on stage with @LYRband at the @ParkwayBarnsley. Words, music and images combined to tell the story of Eldon Street, Barnsley. A magnificent evening of prose to celebrate what's best about our town. Theodolite.

[Shona Vallance @Shona_Hist]

[Niall Clarke @nialljclarke]

Interesting evening. Simon Armitage, Poet Laureate, has teamed up with Barnsley Archives and developed a multimedia extravaganza around poems he has written about an iconic street in Barnsley - Eldon Street

[Danielle Churchill 📚 @dchurchillteach]

Superb evening in Barnsley watching Simon Armitage and LYR, invited as VIP attendees thanks to the incredible poetic efforts of @TrinityAcadStE students. Brilliant event despite the rain... At least we could dry off our hair!

[Jon Finch @jon_finch15]

What an evening last night! Simon Armitage and the @LYRband performing at the Parkway Cinema in Barnsley. Celebrating the heritage of Eldon street @EldonHaz. Inspirational stuff! Thank you to the great @BarnsleyMuseums team for making it happen.

As Cabinet Support Member for Regeneration and Culture I'm pleased to attend @ParkwayBarnsley for 'Barnsley - An Unnatural History' by poet laureate Simon Armitage and LYR. Perhaps a touch of surreal in the real world is just what we all need right now.
