@VManSeven Haha, yes. I still occasionally read what is going on although I have given up on participating in the scene years ago. Shkreli is a little personal because his actions affected people I knew. Didn't expect anyone to notice a simple like after years, but you did!
@janeclarejones I have been following you for close to two years and recently re-read your latest Judith Butler piece. I think you are confusing the Gamergate with the anti-Gamergate ('Gamerghazi') crowd.
Nowadays: Gamergate=right-leaning, GGhazi='woke' left
I'm going to Berlin on the 31st. I would really love to keep up with streaming while I'm there, and the conditions at the AirBnB won't be enough.
So LF any org/whatever that can hook me up with an office that I can use 3 times a week. An RT would be fantastic.
IG might be in the process of suffering the same fate that SKT did in early 2014 - kept testing the limits of what they can get away until they started losing and realised that they forgot how to play clean games.
@ChachiSTL@LeagueESAN TPA was relatively obscure going into S2 Worlds, but those that had seen them in practice already had them as a favourite a week before the tournament.
It sure was a shock to those living in their Western bubble, though.
Lots of the same people that were saying 'Gamergate is only about misogyny and fascism, they do not care really care about ethics in journalism' in 2014 are now pushing 'TERFs are transphobic and fascist and do not actually care about women's rights '.
@Glinner I have massive respect for the fact that you are dedicating so much of your time to stand up for women's rights. I do believe though that your characterisation of 'Gamergate' in connection to TRA lacks nuance and ignores the role of 'Anti-Gamergate'.
@Jarge__ It is arguably worse in Silver elo than in high elo. Gold gained from items/runes is relatively flat, while cs numbers are drastically higher as you go up the ladder.
@Jarge__ So now, while the late/early discrepancy between roles is reduced, warding a team effort and everyone gets comparable amounts of gold, Riot is still trying to uphold the traditional roles.
As a result, items require lots of artifical limitations to avoid abuse.
Reminder that 0cs klepto/spellthiefs abuse is just the latest trend in players finding ways to exploit the stop-gap systems riot implements because they can't find a way to balance gold generation for roles that don't last-hit creeps as their primary income source.
@shatterfront Numbers of ranked accounts for each Chinese server that I found in 2016 indicated that at that point of time ~50% of global LoL player base was in China.
@shatterfront even if you assume that some Chinese streaming platforms inflate their viewer numbers (which I don't think they do to the degree that some people assume), just player numbers and live audience should make it clear that its by far the largest market.
Riot is having a hard time retaining casting talent that does multiple games. At the same time, on-air talent from other games never finds its way into LoL.
