Nothing to see here, just Jim Carter OBE! You will be totally unsurprised to hear that he is an absolute gentleman. Lovely portrait taken by our man behind the cam, @arturtixiliski for some work we did with @mariecurieuk
This quote is from a brilliant event we did with @ladycariad & Julia Samuel - two incredible women whose podcasts and books provide comfort to many thousands of people in their darkest hours and their down-to-earth wisdom.
This clip is from an event we did with David Baddiel @Baddiel about his book The God Desire, in which he admits he would love there to be a God but argues that it is indeed the very intensity of his, and everyone else’s, desire for God to exist that proves his non-existence.
Our next virtual mini-fest is on September 30, focusing on the theme of Understanding Heartbreak + Loss with Julia Samuel MBE, @poornabell and Antonio Pascual-Leon. This festival is for anyone who is healing a broken heart. Register at https://t.co/Nz2jFw2Kuw
This short clip is from an incredible conversation we recorded with @levirootsmusic & Mel Giedroyc in The Memory Kitchen in 2022. Working with @mariecurieuk, we created a space where guests came together to cook dishes that reminded them of someone who has died.
Former US First Lady Michelle Obama wrote her best-selling memoir, Becoming, in 2018. She revealed how she suffered a miscarriage before having her two daughters, Malia and Sasha, and explained how experiencing something beautiful can leave you feeling alone when you're grieving.
Let's talk yoga! You don't need fancy gear and you certainly don't need to be able to do the splits. Yoga is about moving energy, play & accepting yourself as the beautifully flawed human that you are. This shot is from the yoga studio at Wild & Well Festival in 2018.
A taste of the visual identity we created for the UK Commission on Bereavement. Together, we produced three events - including a live event in Westminster - and a suite of design and animation assets to bring the stories of hundreds of people to life. @mariecurieuk
We've been very lucky to work with Katherine May several times over the past couple of years. Her bestselling book 'Wintering' is an invitation to lean into the fallow seasons of our life and rest and retreat during times of turbulence. Very apt as we transition into Autumn!
These posters & t-shirts were part of a rebrand we did for Bristol Jazz + Blues Festival a few years back. The gorgeous illustrations are by @annahiggie with artwork by long-term collaborator Sarah Dent (@JollyGS). We love bringing events to life with innovative visual concepts.
Grieving for the human connections you will never make 'because of who you are.' @Okwonga and @CatRentzenbrink on grief caused by social injustice. Full clip on The Grief Channel on YouTube.
This behind-the-scenes pic of Julia Samuel & Sheila Hancock perfectly captures the closing moments of what started out as a challenging interview for us, as Sheila was worried we were only interested in making her cry on camera! It ended up being one of our best productions yet.
Gill Mann is a therapist and author whose 22 yo son Sam died in Thailand in 2014. Gill joined us for a Grief Chat we curated for @GoodGriefFest in 2020, alongside @GoodGriefProj's Jane Harris whose teen son Josh also died while he was travelling abroad. #youarenotalone
In this clip from 'A Question of Life + Death' panel we curated and filmed last March, @drkathrynmannix talks about relationships living on beyond the grave. Hosted by broadcaster @AnnekaRice, this discussion brought together faith leaders, researchers and philosophers.
This was a really special event we did as part of Wild & Well Festival. People loved this woodland workout followed by a guided meditation amongst the trees! #outdoorevents#workout#meditation
We've done a number of events with @MichaelRosenYes over the years - he always blows us away with his clarity and wisdom. His son Eddie died from meningitis at the age of 18 in 1999. Michael wrote Sad Book to provide a way to discuss sadness and grief in a 'matter-of-fact' way.
Our director @aislingmustan is a big fan of cold water swimming! Earlier this year she chaired a gorgeous conversation with 'Fifty-Four Days' director @catjoywhite and 'The Tidal Year' author @freyabromley about finding solace in the sea during grief. @GoodGriefFest
Earlier this year we commissioned the amazing @Vanessa_Kisuule to write a spoken word piece for @mariecurieUK's National Day of Reflection 2023. Her piece - 'Dance Partners' - beautifully portrays how love and loss sit alongside one another. Photo @arturtixiliski
This will be fascinating.
@libby_sallnow & @EricaBorgstrom will be leading a global on-line conversation about the debateable concept of a 'good death.'
